What is FASD Coordination?

If you have a child (up to 18 years of age, or 21 if they are still in school) who has or may have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), the FASD Coordinator Program will be able to support you. You will be connected to a dedicated FASD Coordinator who works alongside you and your family to create a personalized support plan based on your child’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.

The FASD Coordinator works closely with other service providers like healthcare professionals, educators, and community organizations to ensure everyone is working together to support you and your child. The Coordinator can also help members your child and family’s team understand and apply an FASD-informed approach, ensuring that services and supports are tailored to the unique needs FASD can present.

  • Single Point of Contact and Single Plan: The FASD Coordinator works with you to create a service plan tailored to your child’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. A diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) can increase a child’s ability to access support, services and funding. It can also increase understanding and opportunities for skill development.

“Thank you for everything… It was nice to be heard, and to have someone there to ask questions I didn’t at times even know to ask. I appreciate you showing up for us.  You are one of the reasons this difficult situation wasn’t worse, and I will forever be grateful.”
