EKO Symposium
Empowered Kids Ontario (EKO) represents Ontario’s publicly funded developmental health sector – the centres that help kids with disabilities and developmental differences and their families live their best lives.
The EKO Spring Symposium 2025 was a professional event that brought together clinicians, researchers, and leaders from across Canada to focus on improving developmental health for children and youth. The event was attended by more than 350 people, including 3 staff from Resources.
Our Presentation
One Service Planning Coordinator and one Director of Programs and Services presented a concurrent session titled: From Crisis to Care: A Case Study on Enhancing Support for Children with Complex Needs. This session shared a family’s story to show how working together across services can make a big difference. The goal of the session was to demonstrated that when supports are better connected, it’s easier for families to get the help they need—like getting a child back into school—and it can reduce stress. We talked about why it’s important for services to work as a team and how that can lead to better outcomes for children with complex needs.
