About Ed Mahony:
Ed Mahony is a well-known Parent Advocate and Special Education Resource Teacher in Ontario. With over 35 years of experience in Ontario schools and training as a Paralegal, he specializes in helping families navigate the complexities of the special education system. Ed teaches parents positive, practical, and proven strategies to collaborate effectively with their children’s school teams to address special education needs. His expertise includes the Identification, Placement, and Review Committee (IPRC) process, IEP development, and fostering effective advocacy skills. He provides “Positive Advocacy Strategies for School” workshops across the province and offers individual consultations to families.
