City of Oshawa Skating Rules:
- Respect and follow instructions from skate patrol and facility staff
- Report all accidents and injuries to skate patrol or facility staff
- Skaters 6 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised on the ice by a parent/guardian
- Skaters 6 years and younger must wear a CSA certified hockey helmet
- All skaters are strongly encouraged to wear a CSA certified hockey helmet
- Only persons wearing rollerskates/blades are permitted on the floor during public rollerskating
- Wait until the ice resurfacer is off the ice and the door is closed before going on the ice
- Capacity limits are enforced
Rules for skating aids, accessibility strollers, wheelchairs and ice sledges
- Accessibility strollers and wheelchairs are allowed on the ice as long as the wheels are clean
- Ice sledges are allowed on the ice
- Persons accompanying someone in an accessibility stroller, wheelchair or ice sledge must wear skates
- Skating aids are allowed in designated areas – bring your own
The following are not permitted:
- Shoes/Boots
- Food/Drinks
- Carrying children on the ice (including in a baby carrier/harness)
- Strollers (unless for accessibility purposes), chairs, sleds/toboggans
- Balls, pucks, pylons, sticks or any other items that can interfere with the safety of skaters
- Games, tag, rough play, figure skating moves, backward, erratic or excessive speed skating
